Debussy was a prominent composer of the 20th century, amongst many influential composers of his time. This great French composer was born in the year 1862 in Saint-Germain-en-Laye. As at the 1890s, he established his musical flair after listening to Javanese Gamelan music. As a result of his failed health, Debussy was not able to further several opera projects he initiated, and so those projects were left unfinished. Google dedicated him a celebratory Google Doodle, on August 22nd, 2013 on the anniversary of his birthday.
Hector Berlioz
Famous Hector Berlioz known for his romantic works including; his 50 songs that further established Romanticism between 1830 and 1847, was born in the year 1803. And was a talented composer that studied and learned right texture from series of textbooks without tutor assistance. Berlioz was inspired and started composing after listening to two operas by Gaspare Spontini with whom he maintained a lifetime friendship. His Treatise on instrumentation made a very significant contribution to the musical world.
Erik Satie
Born in 1866 at Normandy, his family later moved to Paris when he was four years old. At Paris, he was admitted into the Paris Conservatoire and was regarded the laziest student in the Conservatoire. Satie commenced his career as a composer in the year 1892 when he did his first composition. Satie’s did his last two structures in 1924 ballets. He suffered cirrhosis of the liver which leads to his death in 1925; resulting from excessive intake of alcohol. Erik Satie is eccentric by nature.

Messiaen often regarded as one who sees colors in music, was born in the year 1908. He started composing at a very tender age and made his first public appearance in 1931 with his adoring orchestral suite. Most of his works were reflections of the fairy tale element in Shakespeare and theology of redemption. He was a distinct composer, organist, and also an ornithologist who drew on his Roman Catholicism for his pieces.
Joseph-Maurice Ravel
Joseph-Maurice Ravel, a talented composer, made his first public performance at the age of fourteen. He was born in the year 1875 in the central town of Ciboure, France. Aside from being a composer, he was also a skilled pianist and conductor often associated with impressionism. Ravel obtained an honorary doctorate from the University of Oxford but declined all honors from the state and the Legion d’honneur. He completed eighty-five works before his death in 1937 and was buried next to his parents in Levallois-Perret.
Gabriel Faure
Born in 1845 into a cultured family, influenced many of his contemporaries with his musical compositions. The French composer because of limited time retreated to countryside music in later years to make arrangements. His first violin sonata performance earned him fame in his composing career at the age of thirty-one. His invitation to perform in the Buckingham Palace in 1904, opened many doors for Faure. Two months before the death of the famous composer Beethoven made the genre of a string quartet that he completed.
